The film addresses the theme of missing children in Argentina as seen through the eyes of a mother, Alicia. In 1983, after the fall of the dictatorship and the return of democracy, Alicia, a history teacher, investigates the birth story of her child, adopted in ambiguous circumstances. Iconic actress Norma Aleandro, who drives the rhythm of the story, finely portrays this mother's quest. The film, restored in 2015, earned the Argentinian director an Oscar for best foreign film in 1986.
